Graveclothes
Put on your graveclothes, the moon is full tonight
don't say a word, let's walk instead.
Think about what it means
To know you are still there.
Chasing through shadows
like the stream to the river to the ocean
overwhelmed by who we are and are not
Tonight you think I am bottom-bound.
Babble to me and fill the darkness
With feelings unshared, disparage all we've learned
about each other along the way.
Disperse with it when you see I am full
or go on a little bit further now, silently.
Scatter me through the heavens
walk with me this last mile
as feeble as we are.
